Greetings Everyone!
The big news this week is that Pillars of Salt has arrived in Texas! Two posts from the sequence can be found below, which leave us in Wichita Falls considering a sad, but all too common experience as a professional in higher education.
Posts were a little light this week, because I was driving from Phoenix, AZ to Cumberland, MD, compiling notes, thoughts, sketches, and photos along the way. Work is progressing quite well on the sequence, though, and I’ll be treating subscribers to a few extras this coming week to thank you all for your patience as we made our way across the country.
Below are the two additions to Pillars of Salt from this past week. There is much more to come as the trip has provided me with an abundance of material. I’m working on a piece in praise of West Virginia that should be a lot of fun and I’ve got an interview coming up with the VP of Allegany County’s NAACP chapter and a co-organizer of Cumberland’s Pride celebrations.
As always, click the titles below to see the post!
A Stop in the Night
We stop short of Wichita Falls and I become anxious that no one ever sees the self-image that we would like them to see.
Contingent Faculty
How things fell apart at my first full time faculty gig. A part of the story.
Once again, thank you all so much and get ready for some exciting developments in the weeks to come!
