As the writing takes us deeper into Appalachia and home, things start getting personal in the Pillars of Salt sequence. We’ve got three new posts in the main and a poem for paid subscribers this week!
I’ve also added navigation links at the bottom of every post in the main sequence. This means you can now go forward and back between them by clicking the links at the bottom of each post. I hope this makes reading easier for people as they can now go forward and backwards between posts just like turning the pages of a book! Technology, folks! It’s something else.
As usual, click on the titles to go to each post.
First, in Pillars of Salt:
Encomuim of West By God
A post in praise of West Virginia and its complicated history. We’ve got the usual suspects and I wax poetic about the labor history of rednecks in the state.
Noah’s Ark Rebuilt
A roadside attraction symbolizes a lot of things about home and gives us a glimpse into a certain brand of Appalachia religiosity. A curiosity and a reminder.
My Mother’s Arms
I’m not crying! You’re crying! I make it home. Tears are shed and a reckoning begins…
And, special for paid subsricbers, a poem!
Meditations On a Kitchen Chair
Thanks again for taking this journey with me!
