Greetings Everyone!
I’m happy to share these posted with you! We’ve reached a landmark on our journey together — we arrive in Appalachia after a dissappointing night in Memphis. I’m preparing for the next phase of the Pillars of Salt sequence, a more personal, in-depth series of meditations on my home region and our histories.
Below, you can check out what’s new at the Log this week. Click on the titles to see each post.
Two new posts in the Pillars of Salt sequence are:
Disappointed in Memphis
Where a trip for brisket lands me in the middle of a meltdown while contemplating the site of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s assassination and it’s relation to other Black businesses in South Memphis, like Stax Records.
Something Recognizable As Home
A more philosophically-inclined post about histories near and far and how the places we most belong to can somehow make us feel the least at home.
And a free Rumination this week:
Water Falls From the Sky
About coming down off of acid in the rain and what it means for philosophy to begin in wonder.
I hope you enjoy these, and thank you so much for all your support!
